So I blinked and its April! March was great! I have lots of pics to share this month. We went on our monthly family hike (although we did have to miss February) to Mount Magazine. We also took this opportunity to get some fun pics for Sydni’s 5yr dance award. We got some amazing shots I think! She is a beautiful dancer! She has also been working on a cheer routine for competition this month. She LOVES to cheer.

We started out the month with snow….lots of snow. We are very over snow at the Bottjen household. Luckily it cleared up so the girls could go to the Dixie Belle clinic this month. They had a ball! And even got to perform at the high school basketball games. I was so proud of them! Thats about all that is going on this month. Both girls will be playing soccer this year….we are skipping tball much to Averi’s glee! Sydni is even trying volleyball. She really likes it. I hope its something that she can stick with. Its a lot of fun to watch!

It has been kind of a lazy start to 2014. We haven’t had much going on! The grands came up for a weekend. And thats about it! But we DID start a new tradition this year and that is hiking! The girls have a blast every Thanksgiving when we venture out at the cabin we rent. So I thought it would be fun to make it a monthly thing! We live in Arkansas for crying out loud! There are all kinds of trails and pretty things to look at! So OFF we went. We did 2 trails north of Van Buren on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon and had a great time! I can’t wait for next month 🙂

Happy December all! We started with month with ice and snow which is fun for a day or 2 then I was ready for it to be gone! SO COLD! The girls did get to miss a couple days of school though so they weren’t complaining. Sydni’s birthday was this month so that is always hectic at Christmas-time and then I “volunteered” to be Averi’s homeroom mom this year. It has been fun so far just a lot of work!

I got to take some sweet pics of my sweet little niece at Christmas!!! SO FUN! She had to be the best newborn EVER. We pulled clothes on and off, headbands shoved down and up, socks off and on, back to tummy and back again, and she didn’t complain once. A total doll! (I am not a professional in the SLIGHTEST and don’t advertise to be. I just enjoy taking pics! So be nice 🙂 lol! But I think they turned out pretty good! Of course shes a beautiful baby so its hard to take a bad pic of her!)

We had a perfect Christmas this year! Our fam stayed home Christmas Eve and was able to attend our church service. Sydni read the Christmas story just like she did last year. She was perfect and beautiful. I was SO VERY proud of her! Santa came that night and we opened gifts and had a yummy breakfast at home. Then we loaded up and headed south to Nashville. We had a perfect lunch with LOADS of presents afterward. We even fit in a Christmas story play. The girls really enjoyed that! I think this year’s routine was by far the best and was able to meet everyone’s hectic holiday schedules. It made for a GREAT Christmas.

Sydni had a super fun birthday! We decided to redo her room for her bday present. She was very anxious to get rid of the sweet pink walls…a little too anxious if you ask me! She picked a very fun and very cute theme though. Mom and I had a ball picking out decorations and colors! Her party was at the skating rink this year. I have been excited for one of these parties for a long time! I loved to skate when I was a kid 🙂 She had a GREAT time and most of her friends were able to come. Thats always a challenge so close to Christmas but we had a great crowd of very sweet kiddos!
Thank you so much to everyone who came to the party and sent gifts. Sydni is such a joy and mature beyond her years…even further if you ask her! I am so blessed to be her momma!

We celebrated a super fun Thanksgiving in West OK this year. Sarah couldn’t make it with new baby Aurora at home, and Dad and Trish just got back from an island vacay so it was just our fam and Sean’s braving the wilderness. We had an amazing time at the most beautiful cabin ever! We hiked and crafted and laughed and watched football then repeated for 4 days. It was a fantastic time!

Early pic post this month since we are headed off to Thanksgiving soon! And we have a lot to be thankful for this year! The Bottjens are doing well and SO VERY ready for the upcoming holidays. Having a new little cousin Aurora will make things so much more special! The girls got to meet her sweet little self recently, and they were so in love! We also got to see Kim (my BFF for too many years to count) and her fabulous family. They made the longgggg trek from the East Coast to see family and friends and we were so very glad!

So today Miss Aurora was born! And to say she is a little miracle wouldn’t be far from the truth. I am convinced God held Aurora in his hands until the doctors and nurses could catch up to them. It was nothing short of amazing.
Congrats to my little sister Sarah and Sky! Love her, treasure her and keep her safe. I think God has great plans for this one!
