This is beach week for the Bottjen fam! We had great weather and a great time. There was lots of food, lots of beach and lots of laughs and in the end that is all we need! I love my family, and I cherish these times together.

Summer is in full swing, and it has been a good one so far! Here are some pics from Corporate Family Day at ABF, swimming, VBS and some redecorating pics of the play/guest room. I was so sad to see the baby yellow go! But it was definitely time and the room looks awesome! Mom and I still have some more plans for it but it already looks so much better.

What a magical trip! We opted for a moderate resort this trip and chose the Caribbean Beach Resort. I loved it and would totally stay there again. The rooms were honestly about the same as the delux Polynesian. GranGran and Papaw had a few maintenance issues but we didn’t. The only thing I would do differently is upgrade to a village closer to the main pool because we swam every night.
Tuesday was Epcot, and it was our longest day. I am not sure if it was because we enjoyed it the most, if it was our first day, or if it was because it was overcast and not crazy hot. Probably a little of all 3. Loved this park.
Wednesday was Hollywood Studios and the girls loved the roller coasters here. I loved the Star Tours ride. It was my fave of the week. The boys loved the stunt show.
Thursday was Magic Kingdom and of course it was fab. I wish we would have stayed one more day to do this park again. The new section is beautiful! We got there early hoping to get in the new rides first then again that afternoon with our fast passes but the Seven Dwarf ride was down for a couple hours and it backed up our day. We did get to ride it that afternoon on our fast pass. Peter Pan was down too and that is my fave. Luckily it was back up by the afternoon and at least the girls got to ride it with their fast pass. They also had a fast pass for Elsa and Anna which was also a lifesaver because the regular line was a 2-3 hr wait all day.
GREAT TRIP and so thankful GranGran and Papaw were able to do it with us. It made it even more special. Hope to go back in a few years!! Maybe stay at Beach Club next…??

What a fun month! The girls wrapped up dance and soccer this month freeing up some time for swimming if it would stop raining. They had an awesome year of 1st and 3rd grade. They have learned so much. Sydni can’t wait for 4th but of course Averi wants to stay in 1st. She did the same thing with kinder! HA! Hope everyone has an amazing summer! We have a jam packed one and can’t wait to get started 🙂

It is that time again! Recital week!! We had a great week! Tech rehearsal, dress rehearsal then the big night. The girls danced beautifully. I was SO very proud of them 🙂 It is a lot of hard work but they have stuck with it and it really shows. Every year they get better and better. I love to watch them. Sydni is going to take their summer classes this year adding in lyrical, and she is really excited! So am I 🙂

Averi had a wonderful birthday! She is really into the movie Frozen right now like lots of kids. So we had a FROZEN party at Cherry Berry FROZEN yogurt (Thanks Penney!). The girls love this place, and it was a fun place to have a party. I wish I would have done a game or something though because it felt really short. BUT the kids were on a such a sugar high I am not sure they could have done a game! HA! Sorry Moms!!! Thank you so much to all of her sweet little friends that came to her party. It meant so much to have each of you there. All of these girls are precious, and I am so glad Averi has such wonderful friends.

Soccer is in full swing this month, and the girls are playing hard! It is a very busy time though with all their other activities going at the same time but we are managing. I am thinking next year soccer may get the ole heave ho…This month Mom and I took the girls to Fayetteville to watch the Regional Gymnastics meet. It was so fun! We rounded out the month at the annual Cook Carnival. I was making cotton candy most of the evening…fun but MESSY. Sydni was off with her friends so I didn’t get many pics of her 🙁 Guess I need to get used to that!!

We had a great Easter in Nashville this weekend. We went down on Saturday for an egg hunt and dinner. The kids had a ball and the food was YUM! The only thing missing was our sweet Aurora. Sarah had to keep her home today because she had her first ear infection on Easter weekend! BOO! Hope to see her very soon! We went to church the next day and rounded out our Easter with Pablanos….thats Easter-y right??

Back a few months ago Kim called up me and Constance and said “Lets go to NYC!” and off we went to planning! We got to NYC on Thursday. We shopped then dinner at the R Lounge overlooking Times Square. VERY early Friday morning we headed to Fox News for their morning show taping! Kim’s hub took a pic of the tv when we were on! SO FUN! Next, the Empire State building… We got there early and were one of the first in line. I repeat NO LINES. The view was amazing even with the CRAZY winds. Off to midtown for FAO Schwartz and Central Park then to Rockfeller Center for more shopping. After that back to the hotel to get pretty for dinner at Blue Fin and Wicked! WHAT AN AMAZING SHOW. Saturday downtown to Wall Street and the Staten Island Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty. The 9/11 memorial was next. They have done a beautiful job there so far. The museum wasn’t open yet, but we got to see the new tower and the memorial waterfalls. We had lunch in Little Italy then back downtown for a little more shopping. By then the rain got to us so we headed back to freshen up for dinner, MORE shopping 🙂 and hanging out. Sunday after Hard Rock Kim had to head to the airport, and Constance and I went to the Met. So glad we fit that in! What an amazing place!
I had a GREAT time with a couple amazing ladies. And I can’t wait for our next adventure!

Jim, Grandpa John and the girls loaded up and headed to Hot Springs for Sydni’s cheer competition. I was in NYC with friends (pic post coming soon) so Jim had to play “Cheer dad” for the weekend. He did an awesome job! Since Jim’s dad was visiting they decided to make a weekend of it at a cabin on the lake and went fishing and sightseeing. It sounded like it was a great weekend. Sydni’s cheer competition went great and her team even won a medal!! I am so proud of her. She has worked so hard!
