Sydni had her 2nd dance competition this weekend in Tulsa. This time GranGran came with us. It was very special to have her there. AND we had the best time!!! They were MUCH more strict on pics at this one so I hardly got any. I didn’t get any of the Sydni in her 2nd and 3rd performance….everything was so rush rush! So just know she did more than just Geek Groove šŸ™‚ All of her dances placed 1st in their division (YAY!!!!) and then Geek Groove won Best Showmanship of the entire Junior division! WAY OVER THE TOP EXCITING! I am so thankful Sydni has found such a special group of kids with great parents and exceptional teachers. I am really….if you are a parent you know how difficult that trio is to find. I hope she continues to love dance as much as she does today.

The Girls 02/2015

Great February here! We finally got some snow to make it really feel like winter and now it won’t leave! BOO! The girls did a dance/cheer clinic at SHS and got to perform at the high school basketball game. It made for a late night for us but it was a lot of fun!

DMI 02/27-03/01

What an amazing weekend!!! Sydni had her very first dance competition with her group Dance est Joie. It was held at Chateau on the Lake in Branson. Gorgeous place with wonderful rooms and enough to keep little sis busy while big sis danced because we were snowed in all weekend! Sydni was able to take classes from pro dancers and her group competed against many different studio groups in that area. She had a ball and actually I did too šŸ™‚ These teachers and kids are so encouraging, uplifting and so positive! Sydni has just blossomed this year, and I know it has to do with the atmosphere created within this group. It is just special to be a part of. Ok …enough mushy gushy! I have a ton of pics to share! Dance Est Joie DR 01/31

Sydni had her first dress rehearsal with her dance team. It was so fun to see all the dances! They didn’t do the big production one or the smaller dances but we got to see all the rest. I loved them!!! They are so cute and fun and impressive! These girls and boys have worked so hard. Not to mention the teachers. I could seriously go on all night about these ladies. I was blown away by how hard they work, how dedicated they are and how talented. Just wow! Here are just a few pics of Sydni’s dances.

The Girls 01/2015

1/12 of 2015 is already over! Sorry for the math ….fractions are big right now for my 4th grader! We cruised right through January dancing, tumbling and adding in some play practice for Averi. She was cast as Vichy, the country dog, in UAFS Aristocats. She is excited, but the first thing she asked me was “is it a boy??”….ha! Sydni has been my dancing queen this month. Her dance team got to do a workshop with SYTYCD Chelsa Hightower! I even got to watch some of it…it was so cool! Then Syd and I went to the show that night. Fun bonding time as I shuttled her from school, to workshop, to hiphop, ate dinner in the car and then the show. WHEW! But we had a ball!

The Girls 12/2014

We had a Christmas filled December! Sydni had her first company party with her dance team. She had so much fun! She was also in a super cute Christmas play at her school as an elf. Both girls got to be in our church’s Christmas play, and Sydni got to sing part of a song with 2 of her friends. It was precious! Averi’s dance class got to perform an adorable Christmas dance. It was so cute and we loved watching the other girls dance too! Both girls participated in a hip hop workshop over the break too and Averi won a half scholarship! The clinic is in Chicago this month so we can’t go but I was so very proud of her!! We brought in the New Year with Sean and his fam. Since they couldn’t make it Thanksgiving we had them come down for NY and we had a ball! Bring on 2015!

Christmas 12/25

What a whirlwind of a Christmas this year. December seemed even more hectic than ever. Our Christmas Eve service at our church was such a perfect way to remember what the whirlwind is really about and how blessed we truly are. Averi was asked to read the Christmas story this year during the service and she did a beautiful job. I was so proud of her! After Santa came on Christmas morning we drove to Nashville for a Christmas with GranGran and Papaw. We had a great day! Mom and I had to cut it short to get to Texarkana to help Sarah but that is what family is for! I am thankful we could be there for her.

Rainan Calvin’s Birthday 12/22

Well I missed the birth!! šŸ™ I was so sad šŸ™ But I ran down there the next day to meet the new little man and of course get some PICS! He is a precious doll with a head full of beautiful black hair. I love him <3 Sarah did great but had one of those horrific epidural headaches. Mom and I had to come over Christmas day and help her. She was in such pain. It was awful seeing her like that. The ER finally got her pain manageable, and she is doing well now. Rain and Rori are darling. Congrats Sarah and Sky!

Christmas Party 12/20

We hosted a Christmas party for our friends tonight! It was so fun to get together. We don’t do it near enough!! The kids had a ball playing together and were so good! We even got a visit from Santa Claus and his cute little elf!! It was a great night with great people. We are a blessed family.

Sydni’s 10th birthday 12/17

Sydni had a super fun birthday this year! We rented a couple connecting rooms at the Hampton here in town that has an indoor pool. I can’t say enough nice things about this place. They were so accommodating, the rooms were so clean, and the breakfast was awesome! Some of Syd’s friends came and swam and then we did crafts. I FINALLY got them in bed around 11 and I think they were asleep by midnight!! I can’t believe my girl is in the DOUBLE digits now. It seems impossible how fast shes grown. She is a light in our family, and I thank God every day for letting me be her momma…even when she drives me nuts!! šŸ˜‰
