Sydni had her 2nd dance competition this year and did great! She loved the classes. She moved up from the junior room to the teen room so she was bottom of the totem pole but she held her own and danced her tail off. I was so proud of her!!! She was beautiful!! ….when she let me watch!!! She is growing up and doesn’t need me hovering. I am so glad she has that confidence but sad too!!! šŸ™ HerĀ 3 dances were GREAT! She scored 1st place for Stand by me and 2nd place for Biggest Blame Fool and On the Homefront. At the wrap up ceremony Stand by Me received the Judges Choice trophy!!!! SO EXCITING to see the kids run up on stage šŸ™‚

Dad’s memorial 2/20

I lost my dad last month to lung cancer. He was diagnosedĀ lastĀ October. It has been a difficult few months. This weekend Trish had a memorial for him in TX. I got to meet so many wonderful people that knew my dad and got to see lots of old friends and family. It was a great time and I know Dad would have loved it even though he would have complained about the fuss šŸ˜‰

The Girls 01/2016

I got some fun pics to start 2016. Sydni had her dress rehearsal for her dance competition and that is always fun! It is so exciting seeing the dances for the first time! Then the girls went to the Dixie Belle dance clinic one weekend. They get to perform at the boys basketball game next month. We got to fit in a fam hike this month! We kind of slack off in the fall so I was glad to get back to it! It was a gorgeous day to be outside!

HDJ 1/8-10

Sydni had a great time at her first competition this year. She danced her tail off all weekend, and I was so proud of her! All 3 of her dances scored a high gold rating! WOOHOO! It was a great weekend with some really great kids!!!

The Girls 12/2015

We had a great December! Averi was an elf in an adorable Christmas play at school. She delivered her line perfectly and was soooo precious during the songs. It was so much fun! Miss Layla Jane joined the Settle fam this month too! This family is very special to us, and we are so excited for them! Shes a little doll! We also had a visit from Sean’s fam for New Years weekend. We such a great time together!

Christmas 2015

Such a beautiful, fun and very warm Christmas this year! We stayed at home on Christmas eve attending our candlelight church service then doing Santa in the morning. It is such a wonderful tradition we started several years ago and makes Christmas even more special. Then we headed to Gran and Pap’s for a yummy lunch and more presents! We had a wonderful time being with family and enjoying the day.

Sydni’s 11th bday

So I planned on no more bday parties after 10 BUT I really wanted Sydni to go to the Nutcracker and I knew she would enjoy it more with friends. And the next thing I know we are having a sleepover and a cookie cake. The very definition of a party…oh well. It was so fun! The girls had a ball and loved the ballet! They were great that night and didn’t make a peep. Sydni had a great bday WEEK! Thank you so much to all those who celebrated her šŸ™‚ She’s a beautiful girl with an even more beautiful heart. We love her so much.

Thanksgiving 2015

What a great holiday! My fam met up with Sean’s fam and Sarah’s fam at a beautiful cabin in Oklahoma for Thanksgiving. We were sad to be celebrating without Dad and Trish but we had a wonderful time! The view was incredible and the cabin was beautiful! We had a downpour of rain for most of the time we were there so no hiking this year šŸ™ But we enjoyed warm fires, fab football and yummy food! I even fit in a barre class with the ladies!! The 3 mile drive out on the gravel road that had been flooded out was the most exciting part though…haha! We all made it home safely after lots of prayers!

Rori and Rain Bday party

The girls and I headed south to a double birthday party for Aurora and Rainan! We had such a great time catching up and playing with them!! My girls were excellent baybsitters. I was so proud of them! I tried to get some pics of the bday kids and while Rori was having none of it little Rain was quite the flirt! I got some great pics of him and managed a couple of his big sis!
