Thanksgiving 2016

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at the cabin this year! Sean and Sarah’s families met us there for lots of food and lots of chillin. It was marvelous! The weather was beautiful this year so no worries with a monsoon of last year or snow from a few years prior. We had a great time and are already planning 2017.

The Girls 10/2016

We had a super busy month with birthdays and halloween fun! So busy in fact I am just now getting a chance to post all of our pictures! The girls are doing great in school. They both got all As with only 1 B. Jim and I celebrated our bdays this month…mine being a super big one…YIKES! We were able to get away for the weekend to LR and have a nice dinner and stay in a super nice hotel. It was SO relaxing! Then of course some fab shopping! Halloween was super fun! The girls had such cute costumes this year. We had a great time!

Nuvo 10/14-16

What a weekend we had! There was a super awesome dance convention in Tulsa this weekend and Sydni reallllly wanted to go AND she reallllly wanted to do her solo that she literally JUST completed a few weeks prior. I threw all kinds of things at her to get her off track but she completed ALL of them…even scoring 5 points higher than asked on the school requirement so what could we do?!? Off we went and we had a ball! Sydni had the best instructors all weekend and she said it was definitely her fave dance convention she has ever been to. And of course her beautiful solo….she was an absolute angel and I was convinced people in the audience were weeping like a baby along with me during it 😉 She was wonderful and scored a gold! The 3rd highest ranking at the convention. We were thrilled!

The Girls 09/2016

School and all activities are underway at the Bottjen house and things are going great so far! Sydni got to go to a cotillion dance this month. It was so fun getting her all dolled up! Averi went to a dance clinic and go to dance with the Belles at pregame. We have had a great month and look forward to a fun October!

The Girls 08/2016

Well we seemed to cram most of our summer trips into August but we managed to remember school does start this month! We made it back in town from New Orleans just in time for their open house. Sydni’s LAST ONE at Cook….which is crazy to me. They have great teachers and should have a really good year! Averi is continuing with piano this fall and then of course both girls have dance and tumbling. I can’t wait for everything to get rolling! We are all looking forward to a fun school year! 🙂

Ron’s memorial 8/20

My uncle Ron passed away in July. It was somewhat unexpected and really sad. He was always so much fun to be around and he loved my Aunt Patti very much. He befriended Jim on our very first visit to the beach. Actually Ron got Jim to assemble something on their new golfcart…some sort of initiation into the family I suppose. They were friends from then on. Ron came with us to Georgia to spread my dad’s ashes and that meant so much to me. I should have told him that. We were able to go to Crystal Beach for the weekend to attend his memorial in Galveston. One of Patti’s many beach friends allowed us to stay at his house for free. It was so kind and so appreciated. We had a great weekend although short. Ron was very loved.

Cruise 08/06-11

We had such a great time on our cruise last year that we took the same one this year too!! We did go out of a different port so we got to explore New Orleans a little before sailing out. We had a great time!!! Cruising is soooo relaxing and a really good way to have family time and alone time as well. I highly recommend it!! Hoping we get to do on over Spring Break next year!! WOOHOO!

The Girls 07/2016

Way late posting pics! Its been a really busy few weeks and not looking to slow down any time soon! We had a visit from the North Bottjens this month. We just spent a lazy weekend swimming, hanging out and eating. My fave things to do! We had a great time! Sydni had one last dance performance of the year in Branson so we made a quick weekend of it and hit up Silver Dollar City. It was hot…like really hot but we had fun! I think the girls would still be riding the roller coasters if we didn’t drag them away! Next Jim and I headed to Florida to celebrate Kim’s big 40th birthday!!! Under normal circumstances this would warrant its own post but considering we are well into August I just included in the July pics!! We had an amazing time on their boat and eating at all the fab places down there. I can’t wait to go back but I think the girls are going to insist on going next time!! 😉

The Girls 06/2016

We stuck around the Fort this month. Our beach trip fell through and I ended up talking Jim into a cruise 🙂 but its not til later this summer. So we had a chill month at home. Sydni tried out for her dance team again and made it! We found out later that she is able to do a solo this year! She was thrilled! The pic of her reaction is priceless 😉 The girls were really busy this month with summer dance, swim team and tumbling. Averi is even trying out piano and has done really well! We ended the month at our church’s VBS. Sydni was too old to take the classes but she was able to help. I also included some faves of the girls’ dance pics. I already posted most of them on fb but wanted them on here as well 🙂
