Sydni and her friend Tara auditioned for a role in a dance production for Monica Thomas at the Chihuly exhibit at Crystal Bridges. It was the first real dance audition for both girls outside of their usual company and convention ones. They were cool as cucumbers 🙂 I was so proud of them! AND they were both chosen! YAY! Tara’s mom and I tag-teamed to get them to practice this week and then the SOLD OUT performance was Saturday night. The weather was perfect, the art was amazing and their dance was really beautiful!

The Girls 05-06/17

Here is our May and June! The girls wrapped up 4th and 6th grade which is crazy! Sydni will be headed to junior high in the fall. In Ma I was able to sneak off to an NKOTB concert with Kim too….woot…even with Averi’s bday and dance recital going on…May is a crazy time! Sydni tried out for her dance company again and got a SOLO and 4 other group dances! She was thrilled! And we were too 🙂 Averi tried out for a local play and got a part!!! SO EXCITING! She had to audition and sing for them all by herself. I am SO proud of her! Sydni had her first church camp this June. She had a ball!

Omaha 06/30-3

We had a fun visit up north with Mike’s fam. Friday we watched Despicable Me 3 at the Alamo moviehouse….really nice! Then Mike swung us by his office at the Dept of Homeland Security. So cool! We got to watch one of Simon’s baseball games and he WON! which makes it more fun! 🙂 That night the grown ups went out to din but I was NOT feeling well so we called it an early night and went home to do smores with the kids. It was a beautiful night! The next day we went to church and all the fam came over for lunch and laughs. We had a great time visiting and laughing A LOT! That night the Bottjen clan went to a semi pro baseball game. I couldn’t believe my girls had never been to one! We needed to get that checked off the bucket list!

Crystal Beach 06/09-12

We had a great beach weekend with our Norman fam! The weather was beautiful and the beach house was so cute! We ate good and spent lots of time lounging by the beach….well most of us did anyway!! Jim and Sean stuck to the indoors most of the time! The kids LOVED it though…June is perfect beach weather 🙂 We had a ball and look forward to next year

Recital Week 05/21-26

What a great and completely exhausting week we had! The girls danced like angels and we had a ball watching them! Aunt Judy came down from Fayetteville and Lindsi came up from Corpus then Gran and Pap and Aunt Sue came in from Nashville to watch the recitals. Sarah and Rori were able to come too! And Andrea was even able to come and cheer the girls on! I was thrilled all these amazing people came to support my girls. They have worked so hard all year. I am so ready for next year! (after I sleep for a week or 2!!!!)

Triumph National Talent 4/21

It took a while to get the performance pics in that’s why I am so long to post! Sydni had her last competition of the season in Bentonville. She competed in the highest level in the 12-14 age range and received a platinum score AND highest score in her category! SO COOL! I have loved watching her grow as a dancer this year. She has learned so much. It blows me away to see how far she has come!

Averi 10th birthday 5/16

Averi had a great birthday this year! We got a couple rooms at a hotel in town with an indoor pool. GranGran came to help supervise and we had so much fun! The girls swam and made bday tshirts and played lots of games. They crashed at 11p so no complaints here! Thank you to all who came and sent gifts. We all love this little girl so much! Her personality surprises and delights me daily! What a beautiful gift she is!

The Girls 03-04/17

Here are our March and April pics! Averi won her the 4th grade book character costume contest. It is always a total pain to come up with these costumes but usually ends up being pretty fun. It helps when she wins though! HA! Sydni chose to be baptized this month!! Such a GREAT and BEAUTIFUL day! I am so thankful for her wonderful mentor Michelle who has always been there for both my girls!

Easter 4/14-16

We had a wonderful Easter this year! We spent Fri and Saturday in Nashville eating my fave fried chicken and hunting eggs. Its so much fun seeing all the kiddos together! We came home that night and celebrated Easter with our church. It was a beautiful service! Then after had lunch with my bestie who had a big birthday today and her fam. It was a perfect weekend!

Talent on Parade 04/7-9

Sydni had a great competition this weekend! So much fun! I think this is the first time ALL of her dances have scored in the top level! So exciting! Her solo was Friday and she did beautifully! She scored double platinum in competitive, was chosen for a full scholarship to the Dance Directive in the fall, gets to attend the TOP solo challenge and is able to compete on the TOP starz performance team! It was so much to take in! I was so proud of her! She has been so dedicated and I am so glad she got to see that dedication pay off 🙂 Saturday 2 of her group dances scored double platinum and “One Fine Day” placed 3rd in competitive! Sunday was her small group and they received double platinum and 4th place! Perfect end to a perfect weekend!
