Finally getting around to posting Jan and Feb pics! 2020 has started out pretty wild …not gonna lie. But we are hanging in there making the best of things! My precious family is beyond blessed and I am so grateful. ANYWAY, looking forward to the Spring and a much deserved cruise vacay…coronavirus and all!

Sydni competed at Rainbow again this year! She got to do her trio and solo. The trio did very well scoring platinum, 9th overall and best lyrical! This dance is so very special and I am SO EXCITED she gets to dance with Daelyn and Sawyer!! Such great kids and GREAT dancers!!!! Her solo was beautiful scoring platinum. Sydni has moved up to the senior level this year so competition will be tough but she has a great solo and I look forward to her dancing it many more times this season!

Sydni had her LAST week of games and performances this week! It was definitely bittersweet. She has learned so much the last 2 years about herself and dance but its time to move ahead and I am so very excited for her! Jim and I escorted her on court for her last home game and she got to do 2 dances that night (YAY!). There was also a pep rally on Thurs for their very last game against Chaffin and she got to do both dances again at the game at Chaffin that night. SO FUN! The team dance was so fun…a take on tiktok dances and her freshmen dance was a beautiful lyrical. The lyrical was by far my fave of the entire 2 years she has been there. They looked beautiful! We are already gearing up for Belle tryouts in a couple weeks so keep my girl in your prayers…

Well all these tourneys came fast and furious so I am combining into 1 post! Only 1 tourney left for my girl! I can’t believe its almost over! Averi has learned so much and gotten so much better!!!
Her team is new and still learning so they have struggled through these tournaments for sure. Not winning a set at Ozark or Battle at the Fort. They were discouraged but kept coming back and kept trying!! In Hot Springs they won their very last game!!! Mahala’s dad paid them $20 each! That has to tell you the heart of this team or the craziness of their parents! HA! At Natalie Jones the girls WON their very first pool game and ended up in the silver bracket. Where they won 2 games in a row to place 3rd!! It was awesome!!

First team competition of the season was in OKC for HDJ this year! The city was a nice change of pace from Branson but the parking was the WORST UGH…I am not a big city girl…We took it easy Fri night then on Sat Syd had a full day of classes with competition that night. She had her solo, trio, small group and 2 large group dances. Her solo and trio did the best ever and their team ballet score improved from last year! Her musical theater was really cute scoring best in category and her small group (which might be my fave group dance EVER) won best group! It was a great night!!!! The next day Sydni had more classes plus a scholarship audition. At awards that afternoon she was a finalist along with 3 of her teammates and she WON the national scholarship! I was so happy for her! She works SO HARD every day and it just makes a momma’s heart happy to see that recognized.

Well what an exciting 1st vball tourney for us! This is long but I don’t want to forget! After making the 7th grade vball team at Ramsey and LOVING it… Averi tried out for FSJ. She really wanted to get better to have a chance to make the 8th grade team next year at her school. And the place to do that is FSJ, a local competitive vball club. But after tryouts she was placed on the alternate team. She was so upset!! Things worked out to where the alternate kids were able to have a coach and able to play (THANK YOU COACH KIM) so now she is a member of FSJ 13-5. In all the setup they didn’t get as many practices as other teams but they were ready to give it a shot at their first tourney, Volley at the Ville. I think there were about 15 teams that were split into 3 pools of 5. We played our pool of 4 games and didn’t win a game. Not even a set. These girls were so big and so good and so fast! Our little ones hung in there though and gave them a good game! So the top 3 teams of each pool went ot the gold bracket and the bottom 2 teams of each pool (us) went to the silver bracket. 1st game of bracket play was close but we WIN BOTH SETS! And NOT ONLY THAT, Averi served the final 3 points of the 2nd set to win the game! I cried. Like legit cried! I will never forget the look on her face. All the girls were thrilled! It was SO EXCITING! The next game the girls kept it close but lost. They played SO well though that they were able to recognize how well they had done! I was so proud! We are off to Fville this weekend for another round….hope my heart can take it!

We got Sydni a ticket to a dance convention in KC for her bday so the Northern Bottjens joined us there for some family fun and to see Syd dance! It was such a great long weekend!! One I really want to do again …I loved KC!! Much more than I thought I would! Thurs we just hung out and played games at the house. Friday Syd did her solo BEAUTIFULLY and scored a high gold! While she watched more dancing the rest of us went ax throwing. SO FUN! Sat Syd had classes so we explored KC and the girls went shopping. That night we hit up the Escape Room KC and had a great time! So glad we could share this weekend with Mike and his fam <3

I am a few days early but I was on a roll with Christmas and bday posts so I decided to do Nov/Dec as well! And lets be honest …I am not doing a thing for New Years and frankly super happy about that! 😉 so I might as well wrap up 2019. In Nov we finished football season for Syd as royal blue and December started basketball season for her! She did have a dance comp in Eureka where she scored double platinum (the highest) and placed 5th! Super fun! Averi has started her FSJ practices and is loving it! 2020 is going to be a busy one that’s for sure!! The girls both had a choir concert in December! Its rare they have a school event at the same time like this so that was really fun! And the Christmas choir concert is my FAVORITE!!!

Another wonderful Christmas for our little family! We had a party with the Settles the weekend before making cookie and exchanging gifts. The next day we saw our annual Christmas movie! This year it was Frozen 2! Six years ago we saw the first Frozen!! Christmas Eve we went to church then Olive Garden then back home to open gifts. Christmas morning was for Santa then we drove down to Nashville to celebrate with my parents and family. It was a wonderful holiday and can’t WAIT for next year! Christmas always feels so special to me and I love that our girls feel the same!

The older Sydni gets the harder it is to plan birthday activities for a Christmas time baby! We did manage to celebrate the morning of while we spent the evening at her Christmas choir concert. Some of her sweet friends came to Cherry Berry after the concert to celebrate. And even sang HBD to her! Although Syd wouldn’t let me take pics 🙁 That weekend we went up to Fayetteville for sushi and Christmas lights! It was so much fun! Maybe we have started a new tradition for my little Christmas elf….
