Lots more pics to share this month! Which means life is starting to resume which makes this momma VERY HAPPY! However my chauffeuring tasks have picked up quite a bit! With Sydni in much more dance and belles on top of that then Averi doing volleyball and tumbling again with cheer on top of THAT and THEN both girls at different schools this year things are cray. But I promise to never complain of that again! I love seeing my girls out and about and LIVING. YAY!

Well in typical covid-19 fashion, Sydni’s freshman formal at Ramsey was canceled. SO disappointing. Luckily her sweet friends that are incoming belles this year got together and did a little formal of their own! The girls got to dress up and do pics and have a lovely dinner! It was just what they needed <3 and the mommas too I think! So excited to watch these girls dance the next 3 years!

Sydni has started dancing with Soar Dance Academy. Andrea has been her teacher and choreographer the last few years and Sydni has just really exceled under her instruction. I am very grateful she has a place to continue to learn and get better! Jade Graves photography came out to the dance studio and took some pics of the girls. It was SO MUCH FUN! Andrea had so many cool ideas!! We didn’t get a chance to do all of them but maybe next time!! I am so excited for Syd and this opportunity! She has a passion and a drive not many understand. I even struggle sometimes but her dad and I will always support her and we will always ensure she is in the proper place to follow her dream.

Well we just weren’t ready to let go of the beach this summer so we planned a trip to Florida. Kim and her fam are actually not there! They are traveling the country in an RV (Cool!) so it was weird and SAD not seeing her while there. We had a GREAT TIME though! Florida is just amazingly beautiful and happy! I loved it! We spent an entire afternoon at 30a checking out each beach and doing lots of shopping. I think it was a family consensus that Rosemary was our fave! I would love to get a house there one summer….need to start saving NOW haha! Our condo in PCB, Calypso Resort, was fantastic! Wonderful location, perfect views, sparkling clean, plenty of room! I would definitely recommend and would LOVE to go back! As usual it didn’t seem like we stayed long enough but Syd had dance the Sunday before and Ave had cheer the Saturday after so you work with what ya got!

Well…we made it thru another couple months of covid. The girls had their “last day at Ramsey” consisting of cleaning out their lockers. Not very exciting. Churches were finally able to open though so we did Easter/Mother’s day makeup pics which made me feel a little better. We even made a quick trip to Nashville for Memorial day to check in on the grands. They are doing well! Sydni applied to be on a modeling team with a local photographer for the summer so that was a fun little outing to meet everyone and get headshots. The pics were really good so I am excited to see the future photoshoots! I will share all pics once she is done. Averi has been able to have a few cheer practices in June so I was very happy about that! Her tumbling classes also started back up so its nice to have a little normalcy. But the girls’ dance recital was postponed then finally canceled which was a major blow. This would have been Averi’s last one …she wants to concentrate on cheer and volleyball. So I will never get to see her dance again! I am SO SAD….she wasn’t though haha so I guess that’s good. Sydni has decided to change dance studios so this would have been her last one at GDDS as well. The recitals are always a really big deal and a culmination of all her hard work through the year. I have always loved them so it was difficult to let that go. But God has other plans for her. She has started working at her new studio and is exceling! She has craved more classes more technique and more dedication for a while now so its very exciting to see her receive that. I can not wait to see her progress thru the year!

The Normans made their annual trek to Crystal Beach! We skipped last year for the first time in 12 years and we all missed it! The weather was beautiful even when a tropical storm pushed the surf up to the dunes 🙁 The house had the best view and best AC of any house we have stayed at….the layout was also really great but sadly that’s about all we can say good about it. It needed some work! We had fun anyway and our stay is never long enough…

Sydni had a fun photoshoot with Jade Graves today! I have been wanting shots of her on pointe all year! YAY! We had so much fun and got some beautiful pics!!! It helped break up the melancholy of quarantine. UGH.

Even in quarantine we were able to have a pretty fun little party! Luckily things are beginning to open up a little so we took Averi and 4 of her besties to La Huerta for dinner then back home for cake, tie-dye and some swimming (that was their idea!). We are so blessed by this kid every day. She is sweet and charming and can make me laugh faster than anyone I know! I am so proud of the person she is and the young woman she is becoming. Praying her teenage years are full of fun and light just like her.

Well March started out GREAT!!! Then corona came and it all went to hell. There have been some bright spots but for the most part we are pretty miserable 🙁 (Well ok Jim might not be! No dance bills, no tumbling costs, hardly buying any gas for the car, etc…) I am really ready to get back out there and live our lives! March started out SO FUN with cheer tryouts. Averi has worked SO HARD the last few years getting better at her tumbling/cheer skills and she MADE THE TEAM for the 2020-21 year. We are SO EXCITED! Another year of Ramsey sports for us 🙂 I can’t WAIT to watch her cheer with her team! This is yet another thing corona messed up. She should have started practices and even had a couple performances by now. But nope. UGHHHHH! Right after cheer tryouts for Averi, we went straight into belle tryouts for Sydni! Sydni has auditioned countless times before for things and is the most chill competitor but these belle tryouts were intense!!! They had practice for several hours after school and then would go to MORE practices at local gyms each night. It was crazy! BUT it was all worth it because she made the team the week before corona shut the schools down…..They were able to have a little celebration all together that evening and she got her little bell to wear. The incoming sophomores were even able to get together for dinner the following week before corona AGAIN shut more things down this included all dine in. Syd should have started practices with her new team right away but nooooooooooooooooooo. 🙁 Sydni’s fave dance comp (Radix) was cancelled the following week…..along with the rest of her competitions shortly after that she had been working toward since last summer. We had a cruise booked for Spring break. Its always a really special week for us and we were ALL REALLY excited about it. Its already been a really tough year even without corona but then….. Corona. Averi wasn’t able to finish up her FSJ season with a really special team and coach. And we are still waiting for her to tryout for the 8th grade vball team…No last day of Ramsey for Syd and no spring choir concert….this would have been the last choir concert for my girls together EVER. (They likely won’t take choir in high school.) Its just been a lot of tears and disappointment. On the bright side for spring break we opted for a wonderful little cabin in Broken Bow where we go for tday every year and had a nice time chilling and relaxing. We got to bring Rozi and that always makes me happy 🙂 Since then I started working from home which I actually LOVE and the girls are doing all their schoolwork online including some dance and cheer. I feel really blessed that we and our friends and family are all healthy. We are surviving but I miss our life…as selfish as that sounds. I miss it a lot. Praying this is over soon and I will see my girls dancing and cheering and I will be running around like a chicken to keep up with them really soon. I know our years together are winding down. I know our football and volleyball games are numbered and our dance competitions are fewer. They will be in college soon and the hustle and bustle will be gone. That reality has always is an ache in my heart (although Jim and I can’t wait to catch a cruise on a random Thursday in the middle of the school year just bc we have the urge! 🙂 ) and it feels like corona seems to be speeding up that process of them leaving. So anyway, if you read this far thanks for letting me lament. I wanted to document this time even though I cant imagine wanting to remember all this I feel like should.

Sydni didn’t get to go to DMI last year and I forgot how great it was! And we got to try it in KC instead of the usual Branson so that was even better! KC is my new fave town these days….Syd took amazing classes from wonderful teachers and had a blast!! She performed her solo, trio and 4 group numbers! I don’t know her solo score yet but trio, spider and musical theater all took a 1st place score and all 3 were selected as judge’s choice! So exciting! The studio also won the Shaffer award so that was a neat way to end our weekend! So proud of my girl and how hard she works and pushes herself. I think people would honestly be surprised by how much she practices and how often she works. She amazes me DAILY with her passion and dedication. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for her <3
