Sam’s 40th 9/19

The first of our crew crossed the big 4-0 mark today! Sam turned 40, and Melissa had all of us surprise him at Sake downtown. I think he was genuinely surprised….sadly my pic of the surprise sucks! I remember celebrating Sam’s 30th, and now we are ringing in number 40 with him. I am so glad we are all still friends after all these years. And while I mostly tolerate him because of his fantastic wife and awesome kids, I do love him like a brother…very annoying and very older brother 😉 Happy Birthday Sam!

The Girls 08/2012

Lots of pics from a very busy month!  Grandpa John came to visit bringing me a coat rack and bench that he MADE! Its perfect for all the kids stuff. I love it! We had another visit to ACH for Averi. Her kidney still is not draining as quickly as the other. It hasn’t caused her any problems though…Praise the Lord! But we are still going to have to keep an eye on it for a while. Sydni and I got to meet the newest redhead in our family. Matt and Laura welcomed a baby girl recently, Miss Ruby Kay. Shes a doll! There are also a few pics from Averi’s last week at preschool. She is doing great in kinder, but I know she misses her friends and teachers.

1st Day of School 08/20

It was a big day at the Bottjen house today! Sydni, my little pro, started 2nd grade today. She was so grown up. She didn’t even want us to walk her to her classroom. She couldn’t wait to get out on the playground with her friends. Our little Averi started kindergarten this year. I was a little worried because Ave hasn’t really talked much about it all summer. I thought she would get upset when we dropped her off in her classroom….I remember Sydni got a little teary eyed her first day of kinder. But Averi did great! She didn’t bat an eye when Daddy and I hugged her goodbye. I was so proud of her!

The Girls 07/2012

Just a few pics from the goings on this month. Averi wrapped up tball much to her delight! I think she had more fun than she realized. I know I did! I am actually looking forward to next year but glad its a year away 🙂 The girls also had swimming lessons this month. Both girls did awesome! ……until the last day when Averi jumped off the diving board backwards and cut her cheek. UGH! The biggest news of the month would have to be the arrival of our furriest Bottjen, Miss Rozi Princess. As you can imagine the girls are thrilled!

Omaha 07/19-23

The fam took an extended weekend trip to Omaha to visit Jim’s family. We stayed with Jim’s brother, Mike, and his family in south Omaha. We had the best time! Bowling (which was a first for our fam…not sure why we waited so long! We had fun!), pooling (which is always a hit), shopping (for me and Ave at least…woohoo!), a trip to Lincoln and an all day BBQ with all the family on the last day. We didn’t make it up there last year so it had been way too long since we had seen everyone. We had a great time catching up and letting the kids play. The girls had a BALL with their cousins!

Crystal Beach 07/02-05

One of my very favorite weeks of the year was this week! NORMAN FAMILY BEACH WEEK! We wanted to get an early start to the week and planned on driving half way, getting a hotel room and driving the remainder Monday morning. But we were so excited we drove the entire way Sunday night 🙂 We had a ball hanging out on the beach and celebrating the 4th with our TX family. The weather was awesome! The fireworks were the best I have ever seen! And my family rocks! Love you all!

The Girls 06/2012

Hello Summer! We have spent most of June in the pool! Both girls are great swimmers so it makes for a much less stressful time poolside for me 🙂 I can’t wait to see how they do at swimming lessons this year in a couple weeks! Tball is winding down. Jim was assistant coach this year and did such a great job with the kiddos. I am hoping we can talk Averi into playing again next year. We really had a lot of fun with it this year.

Branson 06/08-10

The fam made a quick trip to Branson for the weekend. We have such a fun time on these little trips! Jim found a groupon for a great place right on the strip. It had lots of water play things at the pool area as well as a park. I think the girls would have been happy to spend an entire day there! We did make it over to SDC on Saturday morning. They let season pass holders in an hour early that day so we got lots of riding in. The weather was perfect, and the crowd was not too bad. We had a great time!

Pensacola 06/01-04

I got to spend a long weekend in Pensacola with Kim, Jarrett and their brand new babies! Grayson and Claire turned 4 months old while I was there. They are completely adorable! They were such good babies and let us drag them around to lunch and brunch and boating with hardly a complaint. Their momma is amazing and is doing a wonderful job.
A big thank you to Jarrett for letting me crash his weekend. Hes currently in AL during the week so I know time with the babies is precious to him. Thank you Jarrett! Those babies are so blessed to have such a wonderful daddy like you! And another big thank you to Jim for holding down the fort in the Fort with the girls and let me spend some girl time with Kim and twin time with her babies. Love you!
