Averi had her first camp with the varsity team!!! They went to Hot Springs and worked night and day all weekend long! Jim and I (and Rozi) drove from the beach straight to Hot Springs and got to watch their performances at the end of camp. They are SO CRAZY GOOD! So fun to watch! I can’t wait to watch them this year!!! SO PROUD of how hard she worked!

Well this year was a weird one for the Bottjens! I booked the family house a long time ago thinking this weekend was going to be open as it had in the past but found out in the spring that Averi’s cheer camp was actually THIS WEEKEND. ugh. And Syd didn’t want to go without Ave. It was going to be difficult if not impossible to reschedule so Jim and I loaded up Rozi and went without the girls. I was sad. It just wasn’t the same! Hopefully I can book better next year! The house was great and the weather was beautiful so that was good. And it was so fun hanging with Sean and Sarah’s fam <3

Both my girls have bdays during the busiest times!! Christmas for Sydni and End of the school year for Averi!! We did manage to run up to Rogers with Gran for some shopping the weekend before. On her actual bday she had school then cheer practice then a cheer meeting/potluck so she spent her bday at Southside haha! But the following weekend her sweet friends all met at Bricktown for dinner. It was so much fun! I love seeing her so happy! She deserves every bit! She makes me laugh every day and I couldn’t love her more <3 So very blessed to be her mom

Spring is here and I am so happy! Love the change in the weather and just NEWNESS that abounds 🙂 Sydni had her LAST VARSITY dance tryout… just doesn’t seem possible. And Averi had her FIRST VARSITY cheer tryout. I am SO EXCITED about next year football/basketball season watching BOTH my awesome girls dancing and cheering for the same team on the same night! It is going to be a very special year <3

I was so excited that we were able to give Averi’s freshman class a formal!! I am very thankful to the awesome parents that pitched in and made the night a success! It was so much fun to see Averi and her friends all dressed up <3 She was asked to formal by her boyfriend Ashton… a super sweet kid she goes to school with. They looked great together!! SO fun! We had perfect weather too which was so nice!! Cant believe how grown up my girl is. She looked gorgeous <3

SDA tried a new convention/competition this year called NYCDA. Being in Dallas we knew there would be amazing dancers there and being later in the season we knew the routines would be amazing and THEY WERE! The girls look so good though and Sydni and Rylin were outstanding dancer finalists from the audition!!!!

We went to this comp last year in Omaha but this year we went a step further to the Denver Colorado! Sydni and I opted to fly so that was a fun little adventure for us 🙂 The convention hotel was perfect and the kids had an amazing time!!! Sydni won a Nationals Scholarship and one of the instructors liked her so much that he gave her a full tuition scholarship to an intensive at a college her works at in LA! SO EXCITING!!!! Normally we are cruise people for Spring Breake but Syd has a comp at the end of week so we opted for Florida again!! SO MUCH FUN! We got to see Kim and her fam in Pcola then stayed at the most beautiful house on Rosemary Beach with most perfect Florida weather. It was LOVELY!!!!! <3

Radix weekend! I always get PTSD with this comp now since its when Covid hit 2 years ago but no worries of that this year! YAY! They didn’t even have to wear masks during class so that was GREAT!!! Sydni scored high gold on her solo and her duo with Summer got high gold as well! Such a great convention with wonderful teachers!! Its always one of Sydni’s faves!
