Sydni’s 18th birthday 12/17/22

Well Sydni went and turned 18 on me! She drove ALL the way the Fayetteville with her friends like a grown up… and I may or may not have tracked her the entire time. I can’t help but worry about her but I know shes a smart and responsible kid so I wasn’t as worried as I thought I would be!!! It was kind of a hectic day! Averi had state cheer in Hot Springs so we did presents that morning then Syd went to Fay. She had dinner with her dad that night and we did cake when Ave and I got home later. I am so crazy proud of this beautiful girl. She is going to do great things <3

TOP Holiday 12/3-4

This competition has become one of my faves over the years! The venue is big and easy to get to and you get lots of fun Branson Christmas decor all weekend! The SDA girls did GREAT! They did 1 of their group numbers then all the girls did their solos. It was a great weekend!!

“Necessary Death”- contemporary solo – double diamond, judge’s choice, 5th place

Senior Belles NYC 11/19-25

Its been a tradition for the senior belles to got to NYC and dance in the Macy’s thanksgiving day parade for many years. Sadly this has been missed the last 2 years due to covid but our girls (and their mommas!) were determined to bring it back! Fundraising isn’t always that fun but we have such an amazing community here in Fort Smith! I was blown away by their generosity and how so many friends and family wanted to help. Its an expensive trip but a special one and I am SO thankful they were able to go. We were even more blessed that our fam could go too! It was a wonderful week that we will never forgot and such an AWESOME way to start the holiday season!

The Girls 9-10/22

October passed in a blur. Amid the games and practices and homecoming dances and birthdays we lost our Papaw, my stepdad. He had been sick but had been doing better! So while it wasn’t a surprise it was definitely a shock. Please pray for our family and most importantly my mom. A bright spot in the month was Sydni was accepted into the CLI Conservatory for the 2023-24 class! She will go to Massachusetts for 10 months after she graduates in May. She will be training with the best dancers and top choreographers!! Its an amazing opportunity and she is over the moon! It is SO far but she has worked SO HARD to get this far in her training. I couldn’t be more excited for her!! And I know her Pap would be so proud <3

Summer is over and we are heading into fall! This is Sydni’s last year of high school and the girls first and only year cheering/dancing for the same team! So I am really excited to see them together throughout the year <3

Sydni Coast to Coast 7/16-29

Well Sydni had quite a 2 weeks!! Her dance team had already decided to go to LA for a week for classes and choreo. Then this spring Sydni had the opportunity to audition for the CLI Conservatory’s summer intensive and was accepted! Andrea, her teacher, chaperoned her and 2 other girls to Massachusetts for what sounded like an AMAZING week of dancing with the best of the best! Shes a literal saint for being mother hen all week!!!! And while there Sydni got to learn her senior solo from Teddy Forance, the conservatory’s director! IT IS SO COOL! I can’t believe this is her last one 🙁 After Mass they all hopped on a plane and met the rest of their team in LA (I got to go too!). We had a BALL! I got some work done during the day in the hotel’s cute little patio/courtyard area while the kids danced. Then we were able to get out and about in the evening. California was absolutely gorgeous! Perfect weather and perfect views! Loved it <3 a HUGE thank you to Andrea and Soar Dance Academy for arranging this opportunity. I have no words for how impactful that last 2 weeks were for Syd. She danced 8-13 hours every day for 2 weeks. 2 weeks! And she would have done more.

Bahamas Cruise 7/2-9

Well we finally got to go on our covid cruise!! WOOT! We got to do an 8 day one this time and it was AMAZINGGGGG! We did Key West, Freeport, Half Moon Cay, and Nassau. We had a wonderful time with gorgeous weather. It was a little on the hot side (we prefer march) but it wasn’t terrible at all! Love making memories with my fam <3 and are already talking about the next one!!

SDA Showcase 6/4

Season 2 showcase was amazing!! The girls look phenomenal and the Bakery District is such a cool venue. Its always over way too soon but already looking forward to Season 3 and Syd’s senior year!!

The Girls 05-06/22

Freshman and Junior year are officially wrapped up and we are off to summer! We have a jam packed one this year! Averi went to church camp at Big Stuff and had a blast! She is also doing Anne Marie’s teen team photo shoot this summer which kicked off in June. Sydni was finally able to have her first belle performance as a senior and we even went ahead and had some photos taken of her senior belle group! Another check mark to start senior year! She has been working when possible and of course dancing non stop. She has a really fun July of dancing ahead of her!
